WHAT WE TREAT

Most Vascular Conditions Start With a Symptom You've Been Told to Ignore

Leg pain. Varicose veins. Wounds that won’t heal. Poor circulation. These aren’t things to wait out. Our vascular surgeons evaluate your condition, explain your options, and build a clear treatment plan — from simple in-office procedures to complex surgery. The earlier we catch it, the easier it is to treat.

Vascular Wellness — Not Just Vascular Surgery.

Most vascular practices see you after the problem is already serious. VWI’s prevention program screens for vascular disease before symptoms appear and pairs those results with personalized lifestyle recommendations from Dr. Ulloa. His integrative medicine training means your plan addresses the root causes — inflammation, diet, and circulation — not just the procedure.

Our Physicians

Dr. Kristian A. Ulloa

Only Vascular Surgeon in the US Certified in Vascular Surgery, Wound Care & Integrative Medicine

Dr. Ulloa holds four board certifications — general surgery, vascular surgery, wound care, and integrative medicine — the only vascular surgeon in the US with this distinction. That integrative training allows him to address the lifestyle and metabolic factors that cause vascular disease, not just treat it after it develops.

Dr. Mariano F. Arosemena

Board-Certified Vascular Surgeon & National Surgeon Trainer

As a national faculty proctor for the TCAR stroke-prevention procedure and former Fellowship Site Director at Thomas Jefferson University, Dr. Arosemena brings academic-level expertise to community practice. He sees patients in both English and Spanish.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a referral to see a vascular surgeon?

In most cases, no — we accept patients directly, including Medicare. If your plan does require a referral, we'll help coordinate with your primary care physician.

Do you accept Medicare?

Yes. We accept Medicare and most major plans including Aetna, Cigna, Humana, United Healthcare, Freedom Health, and Optimum Health. Call us with your insurance card and we'll confirm coverage.

How soon can I be seen?

Most patients are seen within one to two weeks. If your symptoms are worsening, let us know — we prioritize urgent cases and can often see you sooner.

What symptoms should I see a vascular specialist for?

Leg pain or cramping, swollen ankles, varicose veins, slow-healing wounds, coldness or numbness in your legs or feet, or a diagnosis of PAD, carotid disease, or aortic aneurysm. If any of these sound familiar, don't wait — earlier treatment means simpler treatment.
If any of these sound familiar, don't wait. Early treatment almost always means simpler treatment.

What's the difference between a cardiologist and a vascular surgeon?

Cardiologists treat the heart — the muscle, rhythm, and coronary arteries. Vascular surgeons treat the blood vessels that carry blood everywhere else — your legs, feet, kidneys, and neck. Leg pain, varicose veins, poor circulation, slow-healing wounds, and carotid disease are vascular problems, not heart problems. Many of our patients were referred here directly by their cardiologist.

Where are your offices?

• Bradenton: 6220 Manatee Avenue W, Suite 203 | (941) 795-6370
• Sarasota: 1215 S East Ave, Suite 307 | (941) 312-6196

Both are open Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Is this the right doctor for me if I have multiple health conditions?

Yes. Dr. Ulloa's training in wound care and integrative medicine means he looks at the full picture — how your circulation, metabolic health, and lifestyle connect to your vascular symptoms. Many patients come to us after years of managing symptoms separately. We connect the dots.
